Frosted Eggnog Cookies

I knew I would "like" them, but I didn't realize just how much I would LOVE them. My favorite thing is to enjoy them with a mug of hot cinnamon spice tea.

Ingredients
For the cookies:
¾ cup butter, soft at room temperature
½ cup sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp rum extract
½ cup eggnog
2 ¼ cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cinnamon
For the frosting:
½ cup salted butter, soft at room temperature
4 Tbsp eggnog
½ tsp rum extract
3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add in eggs, vanilla, and rum extract.
- In a medium bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Stir together.
