Summer Fruit Salad Recipe with Honey Lime Dressing
Summer fruit salad with a sweet and fresh honey lime dressing. I love a homemade fruit salad recipe and every season I can use my favorite fruits.

Fruit salad is always a great choice. Top it with this zesty and bright honey lime dressing and it will be impossible to resist.

I make fresh fruit salad year round with a variety of fruits. In the winter navel oranges, pomegranate seeds, pears, and bananas are wonderful. (Add the sliced bananas just before serving to complete this delicious fruit salad recipe.)
In the summer I love to add fresh chopped mint to my fruit salad recipe. Your taste buds will think they hit the road-side fruit stand.

When the sign-up goes out for bringing food to parties and gatherings, I love to bring a seasonal fruit salad. I know that kids love it and adding fresh produce to a gathering is always a crowd pleaser. This is the perfect side dish for any party or gathering.
Keep apples from turning brown by giving them a dunk in some pineapple juice. I let them sit in the juice while I chop the rest of the fruit and then drain and add them in to the salad. It works perfectly for any fruit salad recipe. This method also works well with pears to keep them from browning.
Instructions
Wash and chop apples and soak in a bath of pineapple juice. This will provide the perfect base for your fruit salad recipe.
Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fresh fruits into bit sized pieces. Combine all in a large mixing bowl. *If using bananas, add only when ready to serve
*If you want to make this ahead of time, keep any fresh pineapple separate. Fresh pineapple has high enzymes (so healthy) but can make the other fruits wilt after about 12 hours.
In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, whisk together the lime juice, honey, and vanilla extract. Drizzle over fruit in the large bowl and mix well.
Garnish with fresh chopped mint and serve.
If you want to make this ahead of time, keep the pinapple in its own container and don't add the dressing until about 2-3 hours before serving.
Variations
In the winter navel oranges, pomegranate seeds, pears, and bananas are wonderful in any fruit salad recipe.
- mangos
- kiwi
- raspberries
Fresh melon has too much water content, keep the watermelon just for eating aside 😊
Top Tip:
Chop everything into similar bite-sized pieces. Eating a fruit salad is much nicer when things are all bite-sized and similar. I keep blackberries and blueberries whole usually.
Storage
Store leftover fruit salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. You can even store it in a salad spinner with the straining bowl and the fruit will stay up out of the juices to not get soggy. This is excellent for preserving your fresh fruit salad recipe.
