    “Secret Recipe” Taco Filling

    August 27, 2013 by Alexis

Who knew there was more than one way to make taco meat.  All growing up and in my own cooking years, taco meat is simply ground beef (sometimes with onion) and the packet of taco seasoning.  And it was good….but it was just taco meat.  THIS is taco filling “secret recipe” quality.  Truly, your friends will want to know what makes it SO GOOD!

    Taco Filling

Here is your team line up of ingredients.  I didn’t get a picture of the beef.

    Taco Filling

    “Secret Recipe” Taco Filling

3 lb ground beef (yes, 3 lbs….trust me.  You will want to freeze this to have on hand)

1/4 cup dried minced onion (or 1/2 cup fresh minced onion)

    2 cups water

3/4 cup taco seasoning (a packet is about 1/4c)

    2 tsp ground cumin

10 oz diced green chilies (I use mild so they don’t add any spice, just a good flavor)

    1. Brown ground beef and onion until no longer pink.  Drain and return to skillet.

    2. Stir in water, taco seasoning, cumin, and green chilies.  Let simmer 10 minutes.  Serve with all of your favorite taco fixings in a tortilla or over a bed of lettuce.  Toss the leftovers in taco soup or in the freezer for a quick meal to have on hand.

    Enjoy!

I made this tonight with hopes of having leftovers for several meals including Taco Soup. However, my two teenage boys, toddler, and husband ate close to 2 of 3# of meat!!! It was really good. We put it in homemade taco bowls. The best meat ever!

Today I wanted to chat a little bit about how I sh Today I wanted to chat a little bit about how I share my faith with others. It can be hard to figure out where to start, but by sharing your faith with even one person you've already made a difference.

Share your faith with those around you authentically. It's important to show that your life isn't perfect. Talk about the good and the bad and what God has done for you in those times! Talking about God and His faithfulness each day helps create a natural flow. Talk about God often through the day in casual settings and just in conversation.

Pray for those you interact with. Pray for God to place someone in your life who needs Him.

Of course, my greatest way of sharing my faith is with you all. I love that we've created a community here full of joyfulness and rejoicing in God’s perfect ways. I've been able to write about my own experiences (good and bad/hard) on the blog and here on Instagram, in a way where I'm able to encourage and really connect with new friends.

If you ever need any advice I'm always here! Tag someone in the comments you want to pray for today. Or simply leave us your 🙏 to spread a little joy 💕

This travel schooling adventure has been nothing s This travel schooling adventure has been nothing short of amazing. We have finished out 2 weeks on the road and we have driven over 2,000 miles! We zigzagged across Utah and went through the center of Arizona.

My very favorite scenery so far has been Arches National Park. My goodness…..it is stunning! We went twice to Goblin Valley to play on all of the big red rocks.

We still have about 5 more days before we get home and plenty more to explore.

We are creating memories that will bond us for life and I am so so thankful for this special time together.

What’s one of your top favorite places you’ve ever visited? Comment below 💕
