Lemon Zest Buttercream Frosting

Lemon Blueberry Layer Cake


  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ½ cup lemon zest
  • ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 5 cups powder sugar
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk


  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together butter and powder sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
  3. Use on your favorite cakes and cupcakes

  1. Hi. This is a very beautiful, lush looking cake. I am in the process of making it and I have a question. The recipe asks for 1/2cup of lemon zest in the frosting. Is that correct?
